Behind every door there is a story and this is ours...
Pat & Willy’s Cantina opened on May 21st, 1991 by local restaurateur and hotelier, Kevin Murphy. Kevin, along with his wife Kathy, took an idea and turned it into an exciting concept that in 1991, Charlottetown hadn’t seen before. Over the last 15 years, it has grown into what you see today. It has been renovated, changed and constantly tweaked to meet the needs and wants of the multitudes of loyal patrons from Charlottetown and beyond.
Pat & Willy’s Cantina is named after Kevin and Kathy’s two eldest sons, Sam Patrick and Ben William, who were two and four respectively on opening day.
Pat & Willy’s Cantina original concept was a Bar/Grill... not a restaurant with a bar and not a bar with a restaurant-– it was the place to be and the place to be seen. It was a place where menu and food excellence matched the lively atmosphere. It was an atmosphere that has been described as unique, fun, casual, energetic and up-tempo. Pat & Willy’s Cantina has always been, and will continue to be, a place with a flare for making people feel good and having fun!
In 2006, Pat & Willy’s Cantina as we originally knew it, underwent a major renovation. The goal was to reinvent Charlottetown’s favorite place without losing the fun, energetic atmosphere that our success was built on. Through our new restaurant design and the complete transformation of our menu, we have developed a combination we know you will enjoy and come back for time and time again!
We look forward to seeing you at Pat & Willy’s Cantina soon!
